As planetary nebulae go this one is huge so its name surely stands for Huge Friendly Giant 1. But no - it is named after its discoverers Heckathorn, Fesen & Gull. The central star is V664 Cas which is a pre-cataclysmic binary system with an orbital period of 14 hours. David R
