Hi, Im lewis Kos, I started coming to the society a couple of years ago with my dad Dean. I really find the nights sky interesting, still I don't no what it is that I like so mutch but it's really, really cool. I know a bit about it all and my dad helps me understand things (if I don't.) He tells me alot about it, thanks to him I even know how to tell witch way is north just by looking at the sun. I am 10 years old, and what I really want to be able to do is to go out side and all on my own take some good long exposured shots that look pretty. And know how to do that with out dad. I do have a telescope, and a webcam, and I can use my dad's laptop I just don't know how to yet. Also looking at the sky I would like to know what it is I am actualy looking at. So that's a bit about me and I hope that coming to the society will help me acheive what I want to. :)

Welcome to our Forum Lewis, and it's good to know that you share your Dad's enthusiasm for astronomy - it was through my Dad that I first got interested too. We didn't have a telescope, just a couple of pairs of binoculars (one of which I still use), so you're very lucky to have access to the Very Low Telescope, plus equipment from the BAS loans pool.
I recall that you won the prize last year for the best junior astro-photo with your image of the Moon, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work in our Gallery in due course.

Here's an alternative design, where the binoculars are fixed whilst the mirror tilts:
