I bought this camera second-hand five years ago for experiments with 16-bit colour imaging, but now that I'm playing with the Sony NEX5 I'm no longer using it.
It has a small sensor, which is best suited for RGB imaging of compact targets (such as galaxies or planetary nebulae), but can also be used for auto-guiding.

Here are some examples of my comet images using it:

Technical details:
  • SONY ICX424AQ CCD sensor with 659 x 494 pixels (7.4 um square) and 16-bit ADC;
  • Runs from 12V (550mA) and is electronically cooled to 20 degrees below ambient;
  • USB 1.1 interface - so will work with any old "scraptop" PC, yet is still supported by the latest Atik Drivers for Win10;
  • Includes an "ST4" guiding port, so the camera's USB interface can also carry the guiding signals up to the mount;
  • The sensor is only 13mm behind the T-thread, so it's easier to reach the focal-plane of reflectors and there's plenty of room to fit filters, reducers, etc.
Complete with:
  • DC & USB leads and software & manuals on CD;
  • 1.25" nosepiece and IR-block filter;
  • Revelation Astro 0.6x focal reducer (for wider field of view);
  • Plastic carry-case
All for £120. Contact me by email:
