Keeping your mount dry

I've used an old home brew demijohn warmer slotted in the space on my pier to keep the air circulating and perhaps a degree or two above the outside temperature. The 10 watt element is flat and sandwiches nicely between two pieces of plastic. (one cut from an old washing up bowl) Being only 10 watts, it just gets warm.

Nice one Bill, where did you get the element from?

Hiya Bill. I probably bought it from a home brew supply shop many years ago. It's been on continually for the last few years Under the Camera club's PC for the same purpose. Now no longer needed there. There's virtually no thickness to the element. Just a 5" square piece of plastic which I had to remove from its 1" thick box as it wouldn't quite fit in the space on the pier. Sandwiched between two pieces of plastic glued with araldite, it's now just a warm flat pad. Bill
