I didn't purchase the entire package but I did buy the QHY5 II camera and mounted (or had Brian W. do the work) onto the back of a small refractor.

The camera is fairly straight forward to set up but where most people go wrong is they don't crank the gain to 100% when using the guiding software. But because of the high gain its also hard to practice focusing and testing in the day as the image becomes saturated. So one evening I roughly focused on a terrestrial object (Winter Hill) and then refined the focus on a bright star. Then marked the tube in case I moved it.

I choose to image with an 11" SCT Celestron in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard......
