Well John, if you're after more magnification for planetary imaging that sounds like a good choice.
I was impressed with our SkyMax 102 when I tried it on Mars back in March:

Of course the 127 will give a slightly bigger image, but I have noticed that unless the air is quite steady there's no benefit in going from the 102 to my 8" SCT, as the resolution is limited by the seeing rather than the instrument aperture.

Sharples School have a SkyMax 127, so you should be able to see one in action at our star party there on the 22nd.

What mount do you have? Remember that the increased focal length will also magnify any whackeriness there, and accentuate its tracking errors.

Hi Ross, thanks for the info, I've got the SynScan AZ GoTo Computerised Alt-Azimuth HD Go-To Mount.I can always update it at a later stage, and if I prefer it over the 130 I'll sell it and buy a better mount as I dont fancy humping stuff up and down stairs ..john

Well i managed to get a S/H one, its black and white and fitted with schott optics glass,

The eyepieces and diagonal look cheap and plastic, there's no weight in them so i think they will be next on the list
