After Ross and Carls presentation on these objects last night I found a nice website that lists them all complete with images and their positions in the sky that you may find useful or just interesting ......
Still no mention of a motorway though ....
Just copy and paste this link into your browser.

Thanks Dean.

And here's another Stellarium script-file which aims to help you run your own Messier Marathon:
https://sites.google.com/site/tdsmub/Home/Messiermarathonengver3-3.ssc

Just load it into your /Stellarium/Scripts/ folder and away you go...

After presenting my rather disappointing image of M97 during last week's meeting:

I thought that I'd better have another go at this object, as it's almost overhead in the evening sky in April.

Well, now that I've got used to using the LX-webcam, I was able to produce this result from an hours' imaging:

and (once I'd got it set up) most of this hour was actually spent indoors, watching the US Masters golf whilst the camera got on with its work outside!

And when I went back outdoors to see how my image of "the Owl" was progressing, I could hear a distant owl hooting in Queen's Park!
