Whilst I was out last night testing another auto-guiding setup, I chanced to look up and saw a brilliant rainbow-ring lighting up the hazy cloud around the Moon (a "Moon-dog", perhaps?).
But my DSLR and webcam were already attached to the telescope and guider, and by the time I'd got my compact camera from indoors the effect had dissipated. :(

But I took this picture using the camera hand-held (steadied against the shed):

As well as the aircraft con-trail running past the Moon, you can see Jupiter and even Aldebaran.
