Another effort at Saturn - 2nd April 2011 - Amended

Post by imartin » Sun Apr 03, 2011 8:05 pm

I know opposition is 0100hrs on the 5th, but the opportunity was too good to pass up on Saturday night and as sure as eggs are eggs it would be cloudy on Sunday & Monday. So here is another attempt at Saturn.

Taken with SW 150P, Orion Shorty plus x2, flashed SPC880. 1200 frames taken and processed in Registax.

Thanks for looking.

Ian

Well done Ian, that's certainly an improvement on your 16-Mar image: the clarity and the colours are much better.

I think that you could benefit from a little more magnification in your optical path?
Or maybe try the resample x2 option in RegiStax - your images will be twice as big (and so will take 4x as long to process), but perhaps the sub-pixel "drizzling" effect may bring some benefit when it stacks them? (I've never tried this, so you'll be breaking new ground!)
