We have an astronomy event taking place on Saturday 16th November at Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre and I wondered if you would be kind enough to let your members know about the event.
Comet ISON has sparked a lot of public attention and we are waiting eagerly to see if it is as prominent in the sky as we hope by the end of the year. Professor Jamie Gilmour, our colleague and expert in geology and planetary science, will join us at Jodrell Bank on Saturday 16th November to talk about Comets, Asteroids and Meteorites – the things that are left behind when planets form.
We are delighted that we will also be joined by a host of amateur astronomers for the evening, who will bring along their telescopes so that, weather permitting, we can have a joint viewing of the night sky.
Please let us know when you purchase your ticket if you plan to bring your own telescope with you to the event.

Please note tickets are non refundable
