The Kelling Heath 2014 dates are due to be released on Saturday 7th Sept 2013 and I assume that will mean booking opens.

If we want to upgrade to a better spot we will have to move fast!

Here are the dates:
Quote:
2014 Sky Camp Details
2014 Main Event Weekend: 26 - 28 Sep
2014 Extended Astronomy Camping: 22 Sep - 3 Oct
Bookings are open now. - Book Early to Avoid Disappointment.

I suggest that we try to get a group of adjacent pitches in the Blue area, where we were in 2012. We should book them for the Friday & Saturday asap, then these bookings may be extended later as required.

Who wants to join us?

Ross, I'd like to join the group visiting Kelling Heath Sept 2014.
I went to the site yesterday morning at 0930 after DR's post,
but the response I got was 'All booked up' (for camper vans that was)
If you can get pitches then please include me.
Thanks
Steve Read

On balance we decided to stay where we have been for the last few years. The red field is better viewing but if the wind blows (it usually does) then hanging on to your tent becomes an issue. The yellow field has those man traps between pitches so the Blue Field it is.

Below should be a diagram of our usual spot - Ross produced it a few years back but we don't think it has changed.

The main weekend dates are 26 - 28 Sept 2014 but most arrive on the Thursday and depart Sunday. I suggest anyone who wishes to join our party books their own pitch.
David

OK, let's go for the 240s - they are convenient for the washrooms, have a some shelter, and yet still provide reasonable views (when we congregate on the end pitches at night).
To book, ring the Kelling Heath booking office on 01263 588181 and get at least the Friday & Saturday nights - they are the ones which sell out first, so once you've got your name on them for the weekend it should be possible to extend your booking nearer the time.

Yes; we did that when the bookings opened last September, but it would be worth giving them a ring to see if they have any pitches left in that part of the "Blue" field.

Andy,
Bill had that pitch last year.
The good news: it is very sheltered
The bad news: a lot of trees!
