Last night I took another opportunity to image Comet PanSTARRS, this time with a webcam in "colour RAW" mode.
It was just after 10pm that I took the 'scope, camera and laptop outside and got the tripod and mount out from the shed, but by 10:30 I had it all set up, polar-aligned, focused and aimed at the comet and could begin the image captures.
I left it running for half an hour, and then had it all packed away by 11:10.
Then this morning I used IRIS to do the calibration (using offsets and darks, but no flats) and CFA conversion and then ran Stellar registration using Global matching. Then I used my Excel utility and the TRANS2 command to shift the images so that they were aligned on the comet, and finally stacked them and did some post-processing.
Blog the previous nights viewing. Link to images on the gallery or simply describe what you observed the night before. Leave the technical and howto in another forum.
