I was over at Bill's last night and even though the sky was very hazy we couldn't resist setting up the BBT "just to check the balance" and have a look at Jupiter.
The seeing was quite good, so we soon spotted a black dot moving across one of the cloud-belts - it was the shadow cast by the moon Io which had just transited across the disk, as illustrated by Cartes du Ciel:

All the times I've looked at (and imaged) Jupiter, I've never seen that before, but it was so clear in the big 'scope.
Then we had a look at our Moon - a very impressive view in the big 2"ocular, but blindingly bright!
