Liverpool John Moores University are seeking input from the amateur community:

Quote:
Dear Fellow Astronomer,
As an amateur, we would like your input to help us develop a new service to support the interest that you share with the thousands of people around the world.

The LJMU astrophysics Research Institute is one of the most productive astronomy and astrophysics groups in the UK. For a number of years, we have been working with UK based schools through the National Schools' Observatory (NSO), a major educational website. This allows schools to make their own observations alongside professional astronomers with the world's largest fully robotic telescope. It is extremely popular, receiving around 1.5 million hits a year.

We now want to see if there is potential to develop services for a broader audience across the world. This is where you can help! We need to gather information from amateur astronomers like you about the kind of access to research, discoveries, information you would find interesting and valuable.

We would be grateful if you could complete an on-line survey, telling us your thoughts. This will only take a few minutes. We can then use your comments to develop a web-based resource that will complement and support your interest in astronomy.

Please follow this link to the survey:

Thank you for your help and we look forward to helping you to get the most out of your interest in astronomy in the future.
