Hello from a new Member

Post by bbones » Mon Mar 19, 2012 4:19 pm

Hello

Like the last few posts I'm also new the the Society, Only managed 2 meetings.

I'm originally from the Midlands and moved up to Horwich about 6 years ago. I have a number of active hobbies, Astronomy, Photography, Ham Radio (G4CFP) Computing and not linked to any of the above Ballroom Dancing and playing the Guiitar badly and I mean badly. Given the opportunity I still like to do some gliding and in warmer waters a bit of Scub Diving.

I have always been interested in Astronomy and keen in taking the hobby further I'm currently using a simple and not very good 3" Tasco which I would not really call a telescope and looking to purchased my first real telescope within the next few weeks, just need a better understanding of the different types and what's best for me at my current level of understanding and interest

I'm also looking forward to being able to contribute to the Society in the future, helping others understand and enjoy what I beleive as a very interesting and rewarding hobby.
