I've been waiting for weeks to have a go at this comet, and finally last night it was clear - but my target was not far from the bright Full Moon!
And once I'd set up and set my 'scope slewing towards the target, I realised from the laboured sounds of my mount's motors that I mustn't have charged my gel-battery for a couple of months. Fortunately I had a second topped-up battery and some jump-leads in the shed, so I was soon back up to 12V.

I was delighted to find that despite the bright Moonlight, I could see the comet clearly on my first 90-sec image, so I collected a sequence of them for stacking:

The gaps in the star-trails are due to me rejecting some of the images due to trailing (from periodic errors in my gears).

There was some hazy cloud around last night, but I still managed to get some images of comet 41P, high up in Ursa Major.
This time I was using my little 70ED refractor, and an old Atik 16IC colour camera.

Whilst I was waiting for Comet Johnson to clear the trees last night, I got some more data from 41P, but whilst the Moon was still up.

This is moving much quicker against the background stars than Comet Johnson (which is almost stationary).

I managed to catch this comet again last night, between it going dark just after 9pm and the Full Moon rising an hour or so later (and in the gaps between the patchy clouds!).

It's now getting lower in the NE, in Draco (and not that far from Comet Johnson in Hercules).
