My attempt at the 11th July image. There should be one final image before closest approach. It is scheduled for transmission very early tomorrow morning - it's the fail safe image if the craft is lost passing Pluto.

Charon seems to have a large dark "bruise", as well as some very bright areas.

Wow! It is mighty impressive - all those previous long range images didn't do Pluto justice!

It would appear the delay is releasing the "last" image is that it forms a stereo pair with the above one. Looks like we will need to get out our 3D glasses soon!

Last night's edition of The Sky At Night (their 750th episode!) was an hour-long special devoted to Pluto and the New Horizons mission:
