I'm no expert Eb but I get weird effects sometimes if, before saving as a Tiff in Iris, I forget to do a 'clipmin 0 0' to remove the negative numbers which Iris uses

Amazing that you can image this from behind the Milky way. How much exposure did you give it and did you use a H.A. filter? Bill C

Something else to think about. My software gives me the camera sensor temperature. Unless it's a very cold night, particularly with long exposures, I need at least 60 sec interval between shots, otherwise the temp. starts to creep up. I don't know how much any resulting increase in noise would affec...
